Crafts for Healing is a heartfelt initiative dedicated to bringing comfort, joy, and a sense of normalcy to children facing extended hospital stays. Through thoughtfully curated care packages, we aim to lift spirits and ease the emotional toll of long-term medical treatment.
Each care package includes board and card games to spark connection and laughter, and hands-on crafts to inspire creativity and distraction from daily challenges. Every box is also accompanied by an encouraging, handwritten card—offering words of hope and a reminder that these brave kids are not alone.
Our mission is simple: to create moments of happiness and healing through play, creativity, and kindness. With your support, we can bring light into hospital rooms and help children feel a little more like kids again.
Our Story
Our Story: The Heart Behind Crafts for Healing
Crafts for Healing began with a personal story from one of the Girl Scouts in Troop 492 who had spent a lot of time in hospitals due to ongoing health issues. During her many visits, she found that doing simple crafts helped distract her from fear and pain—it brought her peace during some of her hardest moments. When the troop started planning their Silver Award project, she shared her experience, and the idea quickly took root.
The girls decided to create craft kits to donate to local hospitals, hoping to bring comfort and creativity to other patients going through difficult times. They gathered supplies, assembled the kits with care, and included encouraging notes to brighten someone’s day. Through Crafts for Healing, Troop 492 turned a personal challenge into a powerful way to help others, showing how small acts of kindness can make a big impact.
Each care package includes a cozy blanket, fun board and card games, creative craft kits, stuffed animal, and a handwritten card filled with encouragement and kindness. Every item is chosen with love and purpose—to help kids feel seen, supported, and not so alone.

Hospital Wishlist
If you’re wondering how you can help Crafts for Healing, there are so many meaningful ways to get involved! You can donate craft supplies, unopened board or card games, or new stuffed animals—each item helps create thoughtful care packages for kids in the hospital. We also welcome handwritten letters or cards to include, adding a personal touch that means so much. If you'd prefer to give financially, donations go directly toward purchasing needed supplies. However you choose to help, your support brings comfort, creativity, and joy to children going through tough times.

Pick Up
We’re happy to offer a convenient pickup service for donation boxes! If you have items you’d like to donate but aren’t able to drop them off, just let us know—we can come to you. Whether it's craft supplies, already made boxes or other new goods, we’ll arrange a time to collect your donation boxes right from your location. It's an easy way to give back without the hassle.
